THE PIG AND THE BLACKBERRIES

An ancient nursery rhyme tells us of a good old lady who had a pig of such obstinate and tyrannical ways that it would not consent to cross a certain unavoidable bridge unless its mistress ate a bunch of blackberries. The above is a pictorial reading of the legend applicable to Earl Spencer's insistance on the renewal of the Crimes Act, if he is to continue Viceroy.
